March 20, 2009
Dear Republican Town Chair:
You are cordially
invited to a Continental Breakfast Meeting at Jasper’s Restaurant in Ellsworth
from 9:30 to 11 AM on Saturday, April 4th .
The Executive Board of the Hancock County Republican Committee would like
to meet and work with the town chairs in
preparation for the 2010 elections.
Hancock County
Republicans are committed to working with each town to increase the number of
Republicans elected on the County and State level in 2010. To this end, we want
to meet and discuss what we can do for your town, and what you can do for us on
the County level. Issues like voter registration, updated voter registration
lists, and fundraising will be discussed. Many of you have done a good job of
keeping these lists current, but we want to stress the importance of a strong
town committee doing what they can to insure our success.
The State Republican
Committee is in the process of updating the booklet for each town outlining
duties and responsibilities of the town committee and we are in hopes of being
able to have them on hand for the meeting.
It is not too early to
begin plans for the 2010 March town caucuses for election of delegates to HCRC
and State Convention, and new officers for your Town committee. Republicans have
a wonderful opportunity\to take issue with the policies of the Democrats in both
Maine and nationally. Republican core values of less government, less taxes,
less spending, free enterprise, and
personal responsibility are values we need to keep America from going down the
slippery slope to socialism. This is our time to stand firm on these principles
and elect candidates who represent these values.
Thank you for all you
have already done for our cause,
please join us to begin this process. We look forward to seeing and hearing from
you. You are welcome to bring
others with you. If by any chance you cannot continue on as Chair of your town,
please designate someone to come in your place.
RSVP by Wednesday, April
1, so we can plan accordingly.
GeteThomson, Secretary
of HCRC
