Hancock County Republican Committee Meeting Minutes
January 15, 2010
The monthly meeting of the Hancock County Republican Committee was called to order at Ellsworth City Hall at 7:03 by Chairman Mark Remick.
Mark led the pledge and invocation.
Phil Shea announced that his letter writing campaign was not productive. Others contradicted him saying that we learned that a lot of addresses were wrong (roughly 1/3) so we know we need to update our address lists. Also, money is still coming in.
Mike Beardsley moved and Dan Sullivan seconded that the December meeting’s minutes be approved.
Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was approved
Motion carried
Kathy Birdsall announced that she must resign.
Dan Sullivan and Debby Ciampas moved the committee accept the resignation with regret.
Motion carried
Dan Sullivan moved and Debby Ciampas moved that the committee accept Brenda Breeding as treasurer pro-tem. A vote from the full committee can proceed in February.
Motion carried.
It was discovered that Kathy must stay on as treasurer until Ethics reports are done for the state so she must remain in office until that is accomplished.
Dan Sullivan moved to accept Kathy’s resignation after the Ethics reports were done. Brian Langley seconded.
Motion Carried.

Dan Sullivan moved and Sandi Blanchette seconded adding John Bradford
from Orland.
Motion carried.
Web Site: David Lind asked all the candidates to send him info and links for the HCRC web site. He will be sure to get them on.
Senator Peter Mills: Candidate for governor was the key note speaker. He discussed his view from the inside, having been a legislator for many years. He knows the workings of Augusta and is especially concerned that the state has become a “contractor”. Rather then make a lot of big cuts across the board, the state should decide what is successful and keep it funded. That which is not successful should be cut or even removed.
February Meeting:
Lincoln Day dinner at Boggy Brook Vocational School February 19, 2010.
This is a catered dinner. Reservations need to be
made with Doreen Laferriere 326-0500. All the candidates
have been invited to join in. The social is at 5:30
and the dinner is at 6:00. Cost is $25.00 each.
Advertising for the program is also available.
That will cost $15.00 for your business name or $25.00 for a business card
size.
Future Meetings: It was suggested that future meetings be held at Ellsworth City Hall at 7 PM for March, April and May. Sandi followed through on that and they are set.
