Hancock County Republican Committee Meeting Minutes
January 21, 2011
The meeting was called to order by Eric White at 7p.m.
Richard Malaby lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. Gete led in the invocation. Gay Leach introduced our guests, Carol Woodcock and Gail Kelly, both from Sen. Snowes office. Eric White recognized James Gillway and Richard Malaby.
Gete Thomson moved and David Lind seconded to approve Novembers minutes.
Ben Harper moved and Gete Thomson seconded to approve Treasures report.
Upcoming events: Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb., 18, 2011, at the Acadia Christian School. Use side entrance to enter, there is a choice of dinner and dessert, Bruce Poliquin will be our guest speaker.
Eric White then discussed how he would like to see some volunteers for various committees.
Denis Blodgett then introduced our guest speakers for the evening, Heather Retberg from Quills End farm, Deborah Evans from Bagaduce Farm and Larissa Clark from East Blue Hill. Each guest gave a short introduction about themselves and their involvement with the food ordinance bill being introduced in 3 local towns. What ensued next was a very lively discussion and debate about the pros and cons of this ordinance and the federal Food Bill, S510, that just passed. Gay Leach gave the closing remarks.
Next meeting Feb. 18, 2011 Lincoln Day Dinner.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
