Hancock County Republican Committee Minutes

 

Chairman Eric White called the meeting to order at 7:06 PM at Ellsworth City Hall

Michael Navarre, member from Orland, led the Pledge of Allegiance

Sandra Blanchette, secretary, led the invocation.

The April 16th secretary’s report was read.   It was moved by Jonathan Walden and seconded by Brenda Breeding to be approved. 

Motion carried.

 

The treasurer’s report was read.  

A motion was made to close the saving’s account and move the money to the checking account by Ben Harper and seconded by Deb Ciampa.

Motion carried.

It was moved to accept the treasurer’s report.

Motion carried.

 

David Lind spoke about the web site.  It is getting more and more hits every month and is being kept up to date. 

David Lind also stated that the Arizona Immigration law is on the web site for anyone to read.

 

There will be a yard sale June 5 at 42 School Street, Ellsworth sponsored by the Republican women.

 

State Committee from Hancock County:  by vote at the state convention are:

Eric White: State Committee Chair

Denis Blodgett: State Committeeman

Liz Walker: State Committeewoman

Bill (Merle) Grindle:  Member at large

 

Convention:  Thank you to all those who sold ads.  Hancock County was front and center.  

 

Yes on 1:  There was discussion about putting an ad in the Bangor Daily News regarding referendum question 1. 

Yes on 1: Sign wave on June 5 at the park in Ellsworth 10:30-noon.

 

Vice Chair:  The seat is vacant.   Due to the fact that this might not have been in writing, a vote could not be taken May 21.   It will be taken on June 18

 

Nominated: Liz Walker nominated William Barker.   Michael Navarre seconded the motion.  

    David Lind moved and Rich Eichenberg seconded that nominations cease.

Motion carried.

Parades: Eric brought sign up sheets for various parades in the county.   He urged people to help with them to support our nominees.

Letters:  Sandi will mail information to anyone without email.   She requested that people there give her their addresses so she could do so.

Bill Beardsley & Les Otten, Gubernatorial candidates, held a forum with questions from the floor as well as presentations about their candidacy.   Our thanks to them

 

Matt Foster won the 50/50 raffle.

 

Next meeting:  June 18.  Ellsworth City Hall 7-9 PM.  Local primary winner and Jason Levesque will be featured.  Election of Vice Chair will take place.

 

Bill Grindle moved and Debbie Ciampa seconded the meeting be adjourned.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 PM.
