The meeting was called to order by Chair Mark Remick at 6:10 at China Hill
Restaurant.
Mark led the pledge. Jackie Nicholson led the invocation.
Meeting adjourned for Dinner.
Mark reconvened the meeting after dinner.
August 21 Minutes:
Brenda Breeding moved and Dan Sullivan seconded approval of August 21 minutes.
Motion carried
Treasurer’s Report:
The treasurer was ill and unable to attend.
Blue Hill Fair:
Thanks to all who helped. We need a more inviting booth. We
also need more candidates’ information but cannot get that unless they send it
to us. They had all been contacted.

Sandi Blanchette pointed out how good the web site looks.
Stand for Marriage:
Eric White gave a report on the Stand for Marriage rally.
Vote for secretary:
Jackie Nicholson moved and Bill Grindle seconded placing Sandra Blanchette’s
name in as secretary. Chairman Remick opened the floor to other
nominations. Richard Rosen moved and Dan Sullivan seconded that
nominations cease.
Nominations cease motion carried.
Sandra Blanchette as secretary motion carried.
Senator Collins:
Representative Carol Woodcock gave the following reports:
Carol Woodcock stayed until the end of the meeting to answer any questions.
She commented on how polite and nice the group was to her.
Upcoming Events:
Sandi reported that October 16 meeting would be at the Union River
Lobster Pot restaurant. It is closed for the season but Brian Langley will
let us use the space for a pot luck. No charge. Bruce Poliquin,
candidate for Governor will be the guest speaker.
November meeting:
not set yet.
December Meeting: December 18. At Jasper’s. Social 5:30.
Dinner at 6:00. Auction with Mike Povich as auctioneer. Bring
wrapped gift. Choice of 3 entrees. $15.00 inclusive.
Keynote Speaker Senator Richard Rosen District 31:
Spoke on recruiting and supporting candidates. The recap will be on
a different report pending checking it with the senator to keep it accurate.
His ideas were an excellent game plan for the HCRC.
Quilt:
The quilt was won by Alison Salsbury of Bar Harbor.
